| BUFFALO, NY – BuffaloME (www.buffalome.com), a social networking website for Buffalo residents and fans of the city, will celebrate their success and six month anniversary by donating its ‘members’ to charity.
For every new member that registers in the month of February to BuffaloME.com, $1 will be donated to the Food Bank of Western New York. Over 1,300 members currently belong to the website. Registration is free.
In the past six months BuffaloME has not only grown with members and content, but has also created action in and about the community. Its members have contributed, created and participated in:
- 3,900 photos
- 160 videos
- 1,400 songs
- 300 forum topics
- 400 events
- 550 blog posts
- 70 groups
More specifically, groups have engaged the city of Buffalo including the BuffaloME Ice Skating Club, which hosted a party for Toys for Tots, collecting over 60 Toys at the Winter Classic Rink in East Aurora, as well as the BuffaloME Delicacy Committee which patronizes local restaurants monthly to celebrate the fine foods of Buffalo.
BuffaloMe.com founder Anthony (AJ) Dicembre, credits the growth of the site to the active members.
“We’re extremely fortunate to see as much success as we have in such a short period of time and wanted to share that success with a local charity chosen by BuffaloME members,” Dicembre said. “The credit for the growth belongs to our members. Every day hundreds of members log on to post blogs, pictures, video, and chat about what’s going on in Buffalo.”
BuffaloME officially launched on July 1, 2008 and currently hosts over 1,300 members. The site features member profiles, blogs, groups, events, contests, local news, photos and videos. Members can share their Buffalo experiences and trumpet enthusiasm about the region through the online forum.
