NYCON Seeks Qualified Board Members
7/29/2010

The New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. Board Development Committee is currently soliciting nominations to serve on the 2011 Board of Directors. Please consider nominating yourself or another qualified individual for consideration to be elected as a NYCON Board of Director. To apply click here.

The NYCON Board of Directors is comprised of board members and officers with a minimum of 9 voting directors and a maximum of 36. Currently there are 21 board members, of which 3 are ex-officio’s. Board members serve 3-year terms, with no more than 3 consecutive full terms and are elected by our Membership at the October Annual Meeting and take their official voting seat on January 1st. Board members “elect” are expected to attend board meetings and committee meetings during this transition period. Officers serve a 1 year term for each position with no more than 2 consecutive terms.

Although we will consider all interested candidates, our Board Development Committee is particularly interested in individuals who are racial minorities; are from the Buffalo, Hudson Valley, or Metro NYC regions; are involved in the nonprofit arts and cultural field; and/or are experienced in legislative policy work.
