A  Special Message from Doug Sauer, CEO, to NYCON Members
Regarding CS Plus and Marshall & Sterling

October 27th, 2011 -- As you may already be aware, NYCON has ended the endorsement of Marshall and Sterling as the insurance broker for our Property & Casualty offerings to members.  Council Services Plus is now our sole and exclusive endorsed licensed broker for these products and services.  Please click here for more information.

This is an exciting development for NYCON and for our membership.  NYCON has worked for well over a decade to incubate and build CS Plus to be independent from the typical for-profit broker community that emphasizes large accounts over small, commission over need, and sees nonprofits as just another line of business.

CS Plus is the only licensed broker in the state devoted exclusively to the interests and needs of nonprofits.  As NYCON’s wholly owned and licensed insurance broker subsidiary, whatever profits it may make goes back into serving you, our members, and benefiting our sector in these various difficult times.

I chair the volunteer Board of Directors of CS Plus and I can assure you that service takes precedence over profit; no matter your size, where you are located, or what type of mission you have.  CS Plus will provide you with unmatched customer service and competitive pricing that is not based on which product provides the most commission.

We are aware that Marshall and Sterling is sending out memos  that are not in good taste, warning about assigning “Broker of Record letters”.  These memos are an attempt to retain the business that they secured through their prior affiliation with NYCON and CS Plus, and may be particularly aimed at those of you who are covered through the Chubb or Great American D&O program.

We apologize for the tactic that Marshall and Sterling has chosen to use and for any confusion this change may cause. CS Plus had a productive partnership that benefited our members for many years.  This period of transition will not be easy, and we ask for your patience and support.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions, comments or concerns about transition.
