NYCON Receives Grant from the Scriven Foundation to Expand Capacity Building Initiative in Otsego County
Albany, New York – October 3, 2007- The Scriven Foundation has granted $75,000 to the New York Council of Nonprofits, Inc. (NYCON) to expand its Otsego County Capacity Building Initiative.
The support of the Scriven Foundation will continue to strengthen NYCON’s Central New York Regional Office based at SUNY Oneonta´s Center for Social Responsibility and Community. Services include a varying array including technical assistance, training and educational events, employee benefits, organizational insurance, group purchasing programs, and policy and advocacy information.
This initiative also gives NYCON the opportunity to offer for the fifth year, Capacity Building Mini-Grants for Otsego County Nonprofits. The mini-grant program provides technical assistance and management training services to qualifying 501(c)3 nonprofits that are located or provide a substantial amount of services in Otsego County.
